We’re back! AGAIN.

Standard

I’m feeling that life is moving so quickly and I want to make sure we keep notes of it so we can remember the fun!

We had a busy weekend this weekend. Gymnastics class, two birthday parties, Skype, the zoo and a bike ride! Lots of fun but we’re all pooped.

At one of the birthday parties, the RK got to build a rocket ship and they actually launched them. I didn’t get a pic of the launch but here she is with her rocket partner.

Jeff took her to the second party which was a movie under the stars in her friend’s backyard. She had a blast.

Today we decided to take advantage of the cooler weather and went to the zoo. We have a membership and use it mostly in the winter to avoid the heat.

Teagan just napped in her Ergo carrier.

Took a bike ride and walked Oscar up our street, then came back and Skyped with Papa John while RK did her reading homework, something that was a repeat from reading with Papa and Yaya the night before. I think we’ll be doing more of that!

Fairy Houses!

Standard

Zilker Park Botanical Gardens had an exhibit recently of Fairy Houses built by local artists and other volunteers.  One night, they had  moonlight walk to view the fairy houses, so we got tickets and took the RK.  She loved it. They had a festival with it and then we got to walk around and look at the houses to see if the fairies were home. 🙂

Here are a few pics:

Icky

Standard

The RK’s got strep, so she has to take the pink amoxicillin we all used to take as kids. She spent a good 5 minutes telling me how it’s ickier than this or that:

Me: Is it ickier than your attitude? Because that’s pretty icky right now.
RK: Yes.

At least she knows her attitude is yucky, right?

RK’s Words of Wisdom

Standard

While putting her to bed tonight, we had this conversation:

RK: Mommy, why do you only want to have two childs? (Yes, she said childs.)
Me: Well, it means we can pay more attention to both of you if there are only two of you.
RK: Well, it’s a lot of work to keep track of two kids. But you don’t have to worry about me, I’ll be ok.

The RK – Kung Fu Badass

Standard

In 3 months from today, this little piece of awesomeness turns 5.  Please ignore the tears pouring out of the screen. 😦

This picture is a new favorite.  I had to miss her most recent belt ceremony, but Jeff was there and sent me this.  She was posing with her teacher, Mr. Jeff, and this was their ‘tough pose’.  What a badass, no?

The new little one!

Standard

I randomly threw into a recent post that I’m pregnant!  We are so excited to announce that we are having another baby girl in August. 🙂  We’re 99% sure we’re naming her Teagan, but undecided between the middle names Grace or Rose.  I was especially thankful when I found out it was another girl, because the RK had specifically requested one.  No one wants to deal with the wrath of the RK. I kid, I kid, we had talked her into being excited about a brother or sister, but she made sure to tell us “I like sisters better than brudders.” Duly noted.

Here’s a photo from an ultrasound at 13 weeks. I’m almost 23 weeks now, but this was the one I had handy. And let’s face it, all ultrasounds basically look the same.  Ha!

More Florida!

Standard

While we were in Florida, the RK decided to check out the cocktail hour menu. No worries, her custom cocktail of cranberry, apple and pineapple juices didn’t result in any dancing on the tables.

Later that night, we had Jack’s retirement party!  Being the only kid there, the restaurant fell all over themselves promising her she could order whatever she wanted.  Chicken fingers, pizza, mac n cheese, whatever her heart desired. Well, earlier that week, she had been introduced to scallops (my favorite, but I was still in the throes of morning sickness a bit at that time, so it was Papa Jack who shared some with her).  So my girl ordered scallops, mashed potatoes and broccoli.  A refined palate she has (and yes, Jeff and I brag about this. We’ve worked hard to ensure she likes a wide array of food!).
